"Long Weekend" St. Guilhem Le Dessert 2

First 2 days we got there, it was grey and raining. And it was a bit chilly in evening.
it was already raining while we were getting our hire car at the air port. Luckily we had our rain jackets. I saw lots of English people didn't have them and looked very, very pissed off. Probably they thought they brought grey sky and rain from sunny England!!! Ooops!

Looked like weather everywhere was a bit crazy, usually this time of the year in south of France should've  been sunny and hot, beautiful blue sky, NOT grey and miserable.....

In rain, we got our hire car, I was excited! It was cute "Fiat 500".  The fiat had to work hard when we drove up in the mountains or on the motorway in rain, but we had time & we didn't mind if it was a bit slow.  About 1.5 hours driving from Carcassonne, we arrived in St. Guihlem Le desert. Cor, blimey, it was cute village. Although it was raining and grey sky and misty, it looked very very pretty.

The mist coming down from the sky was just like one we saw in La Gomera. Very beautiful.

First 2 days we wore our rain jacket and in evening, I put electric heating on a bit. Old French houses seemed to keep heat inside house when it was cold, when it was hot, it kept cool inside. Lovely and very pleasant.

Here's where we stayed. It was the end of the village, by the river and the footpath.

Our apartment was upstairs, this house had 4 apartments. Our landlady Fanny lived there too. All 3 apartments had been occupied by local people. Usually her brother lived in our apartment in season off. It was very rustic and what funny about the room was: it had a huge telly on the wall! We never turned it on though.

It's always nice to have hot shower. Very cozy and well equipped as well.
As you can see, we popped into intermarche on our way there. About an half hour drive. We also popped into cute health food shop, tell you more later...

We went for a walks after settling into our apartment.

Beautiful flower in the garden.

Everywhere I looked, It was beautiful....

We went into the church on the square.  The ruined chateau du Geant looked awesome, we went there following day.

I've seen this before, I thought it was cool!

I couldn't wait to going for walks!
