Suffolk Walks---Day in Shingle street

I do like going to Shingle street. Why? Because it's always quiet and peaceful. (Of course, if there wasn't sizewell sitting at the end of the coast, I would be even more happy!)
Last time me and Marcus (my dear boyfriend, he always takes me to lovely places!) went there was the end of May, 27/ May to be precise. It was sunny day, we were hoping to get hotter weather. That day, all roads were very busy, especially going towards Southwold, or to the coast. We did think about going to walberswick. But we wanted to sit quietly and watch clouds.  Well, Shingle street was very suitable for that.

When we got there, car park(street parking) was packed. If there were 10 cars there, it looked full. But if you go to the beach, still looks very empty. it's a big place.

It was windy and bit chilly although sun was out.

I was excited, it was my first beach day this British summer. Now, we needed to find a place to sit down.... We were going to sit where we sat last time, but it was already taken. Also, it was still chilly, so we found a place a bit high up.

We didn't have any wind-breaker with us, so we built a small wall on either side.
Sky was blue, birds were flying. We saw some birds which saw on T.V previous night, I can't remember what they were called, but apparently a bit rare to see them on the Suffolk Coast. Also, we saw a black heron (we think so anyway). It was huge and funny wings (dinosaur wings, just like a heron) and beautiful. I put some sun tan oil (factor 2) hoping some tanned skin, but nothing. Didn't get any tan that day. Gutted.

We were comparing our tan, but no tan......

We spent about good 3 hours or so there, chilling out on the beach.
It was lovely.......

After Shingle street, we drove back home. Not far from there, we saw this sign from our car. So, we stopped off for a quick walk. It was about 3pm already.

There were a few cars parked up outside the gate. Looked like a popular place for dog walkers and cyclists. And this woods looked very peaceful.

We stared walking into the woods. Very clearly marked footpath and cycle path. We followed the footpath, but we got lost. There were a few diversion and clearly looked like it was still under works. This woods was bigger than what we thought, we probably walked about an hour, (didn't feel like that) it was getting late, so we found way back to the car. This footpath looked going for miles, we felt needed to go back to complete the walk later. Information on the post said this footpath was 3 miles. Felt like longer than that!!!!

Apparently this woodland is partly owned by one owner, that's why it had a few houses and we saw private signs there. It's also a farm land, they have horses and sheep etc.
Lovely walks and peace. We loved it.
